Krste Misirkov

KRSTE MISIRKOV

BULGARIAN PATRIOT

Almost all the Macedonian language media, including Sitel TV and "Vecer" daily, criticised Zoran Todorovski, the Director of the State Archives of Macedonia, for his presentation of a signature by Krste Misirkov where he named himself "a Macedonian Bulgarian". Misirkov's signature

Todorovski presented copies of pages from Krste Misirkov's personal diary, a document that Todorovski discovered together with his colleagues from Bulgaria.

But there is a lot, lot more of the same (see below). So how can all these self-declarations of Misirkov's Bulgarian identity, and THROUGHOUT his life, be summarily dismissed? Only when "intellectuals" want to bias their viewpoint by only accepting the "EXCEPTION" and not the "RULE"!

  1. At the International Conference "The Works of Krste Misirkov" held in Skopje, Macedonia - Nov 27-30, 2003, Rastislav Terzioski tells a shocked audience that Misirkov wrote "Macedonians means only Macedonian Bulgarians"

  2. Memoirs of Hristo Schaldev - Conversations with Krste Misirkov in St Petersburg 1902

  3. Misirkov unconditionally retracts what he said in "On Macedonian Matters" in 1907 and then again in 1908

  4. In 1924, Misirkov writes newspaper articles, not once, but twice, to defend the Bulgarian nationality of Macedonians.
This is hardly consistent with Misirkov being a "founding father" of a nascent Macedonian ethnicity. One would logically come to the contrary viewpoint, that Misirkov was always a Bulgarian patriot, and ideological transgressions from this path were but a subterfuge towards an ultimate Bulgarian finality.

But today we witness a stratagem (and mostly from the West) of historians, anthropologists, linguisticians and their minions who not only steadfastly refuse to acknowledge the complete factual record, but in fact deliberately distort and misrepresent it to promote conclusions based on selected chronological events. Why??
